Village Museum Alt-Duvenstedt
The village museum in Alt Duvenstedt is located in a former cathouse from 1935, in which the construction of the village museum was started in 1999.
The exhibits such as objects from domestic economy, old stone tools, a collection of birds' eggs and a school equipment find their place in the hallway and in the adjacent cowshed of the former cathouse. Objects from the war and post-war period are also on display. Tools from agriculture and old crafts such as threshing boxes, equipment for grain cleaning or the traditional peat digging have found their place in the old remise. In the village museum in Alt Duvenstedt you can also admire the reconstruction of an old baking oven and the restoration of an old half-timbered house wall from 1780. Historical documents, pictorial material, maps as well as bequests and documents of the war and post-war period such as ration cards are exhibited in the Heimatstube in the old school. The Schleswig-Holstein Heimatbund OV Alt Duvenstedt has 11 active members who meet every Wednesday to maintain and further develop the museum. On these Wednesdays, the museum can also be visited. For visits on other days, a telephone arrangement is requested.
